Central
Panchayat : We Sindhis have age old heritage
of constructing community buildings, which are commonly
called Dharam Shala. Usually construction of Dharamshala
building is done under the guidance & care of Sindhi
Panchayat but at several places many single donors have
constructed Dharamshala and handed over to Panchayat. In
the Sindhi community Panchayat is the group of well
known social workers working at local level and
considered as the body responsible for smooth
functioning of social and community events, festivals
and celebrations. Panchayat is also held responsible for
generating rules of social life and implementing these
rules properly. Sindhi Central Panchayat Gandhinagar is
considered as the most powerful and controlling in the
Kolhapur area. At Present Shri
Pahlajrai Bhavandas Vanjani is the Present of
Central Panchayat, where as
Shri Madanlal Gurmukhdas Malani is working as
the secretary.
DHARAM SHALA
[Community Building] :
Construction Work for the present Dharam Shala
[Community Building] was started way back in the year
1995. Initially the process was going at very slow
speed, One thought was that going with this plan means
the undue investment, but soon all realized that the
plan will be much much beneficial and will cope with the
requirements of the future. It has taken about 9 long
years for making the plans a real structure. The newly
constructed Dharam Shala was inaugurated on 16 Jan.
2004.

Provision : Any Sindhi family
visiting Gandhinagar Kolhapur for any purpose can stay
at the rooms available here. there is a person specially
appointed for the look after the facilities available.
You can stay normally up to 3 days however the period
can be extended to several days. If you are coming from
abroad and wish to have the confirmation about the
