Kolhapur Sindhi Samaj

In the Kolhapur, the city of "Goddess Mahalaxmi", there are about 600 families of Sindhis [population of more than 10,000], most of them are shifted from the Gandhinagar. Majority of the Sindhis have their residence in the Tarabai Park, Ruikar Colony & Rajarampuri areas of the city. Sindhis at Kolhapur city are closely related with Gandhinagar Sindhis though they have separate social association called Kolhapur Sindhi Samaj. Beside being involved in the programs of the Sindhi community at Gandhinagar Kolhapur, Kolhapur Sindhi Samaj is also arranging their own programs of social welfare. Guru Nanak Jayanti and Cheti Chandu [Sindhi New Year] are most celebrated festivals. Recently Kolhapur Sindhi Samaj has arranged a cultural program based on Sindhi Music and dance, titled "Sindhi Rock N Sindhi Pop" to make the younger generation aware about the rich cultural and social heritage hold by the sindhi community.

The working committee of Kolhapur Sindhi Samaj is composed of Max. "15" Fifteen members, including President and Secretary. The elections for the working committee are held after every three years.
